Frequently Asked Questions

  • We specialise in working breeds and high-drive dogs—German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Malinois, Labradors, Border Collies, and similar breeds that require structured, performance-focused training. Whether you're dealing with behavioural challenges or working towards specific performance goals, our approach is tailored to the individual dog in front of us.

  • The initial assessment is a 60-minute session where we evaluate your dog's history, temperament, and current behaviour, discuss your goals and challenges, and develop a clear training plan moving forward. It's an opportunity to understand what's needed and how we'll approach the work together. The £75 fee is credited towards any training package you book.

  • We offer both. However, meaningful progress with working dogs typically requires consistency over time, so most clients benefit from structured training packages. After the initial assessment, we'll discuss what approach makes the most sense for your dog and your goals.

  • Sessions can take place at your home, in neutral environments, or in locations relevant to your training goals—depending on what the dog needs. Real-world training means working in the environments where reliability actually matters, so we're flexible in our approach.

  • This depends on the dog, the challenge, and the consistency of the work being done between sessions. Some improvements—like engagement or impulse control—can show progress quickly. Behavioural change and long-term reliability take time and structured progression. We focus on sustainable development, not quick fixes.

  • We use a modern approach rooted in operant conditioning, applying the right balance of methods for the individual dog and situation. Training is grounded in clarity, fairness, and results—prioritising what works for the dog in front of us rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.

  • Yes. Reactivity and aggression are often rooted in unmanaged drive, lack of structure, or emotional conflict. We work to understand the underlying cause and build more appropriate responses through structured training, environmental management, and handler development.

  • This is common, especially with high-drive working breeds. Many training approaches don't account for a dog's drive, temperament, or genetic background. Our focus is on understanding the dog in front of us and applying methods that suit their individual needs—not forcing them into a generic programme. The initial assessment is a good starting point to discuss what hasn't worked and why.
